Commercial Distributing Company, Inc. is a regional, 3rd generation family owned distributor in Westfield, Massachusetts for MillerCoors, Samuel Adams, Blue Moon, Heineken, Guinness, Smirnoff Ice, Twisted Tea, and numerous additional distinguished domestic beers, craft beers, import beers, and premium adult beverages.


We are seeking an experienced Controller who is talented, driven, and ready for a new challenge as
an active member of the leadership team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Ensure the Company issues accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Direct activities regarding employee benefits, pension and 401(k) plans. Develop a strong relationship with affiliated brokers, financial institutions and advisors.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action when necessary.
  • Work with Operations to develop standard costs, analyze variances and develop plans for improvements. Maintain cost for inventory items.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing to provide financial analysis as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is ideal.
  • More than 5+ years of progressively more responsible positions in accounting ideally in retail, warehousing or distribution.
  • Proficient in Great Plains and advanced skills in Excel.
  • Reports to Company President
