Controller - Manufacturing
An industry-leading Cincinnati organization is seeking a Controller to fill a key role within their growing organization. This individual will manage the corporate accounting department through daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes/procedures. Additionally this position will assist with the preparation and review of certain financial studies, analysis and special reports to senior management in order to facilitate strategic, financial, and operational planning and performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Develop and document accounting procedures for new or revised financial standards to maintain SOX and GAAP compliance.
· Analyze reasons behind financial fluctuations, variances, and proper financial reporting.
· Review financial activity to identify reconciliation issues and address ways to improve or correct issues.
· Review general ledger account reconciliations monthly to ensure the financial are properly stated in accordance with GAAP.
· Responsible for staff development, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within department and company policy.
· Plan the monthly financial close process and coordinate schedules to assist the external auditors with quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audits.
· Serve as primary contact for external auditors to obtain documentation and provide assistance for quarterly reviews and annual audit.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred.
· 4 - 6 years supervisory experience required. 8 -10 years overall accounting experience.
· ERP/Manufacturing experience desired. Specific experience with JD OneWorld preferred.
· 3+ years experience managing an accounting team.
