Conventional Machinist III -- Immediate temp to hire position located in Sun Valley, CA. 91352
2nd Shift 3pm to 11pm

To support the Landing Gear Machine Shop Department.

  • Selected applicant will independently set-up, adjust, and operate rotary table boring mills to perform diversified progressive multi-tooled machine operations of large and expensive work pieces.

  • Will ensure relationship of machined locations be maintained to close and exact tolerances and finish specifications.
  • Will be expected to set-up own machine using fixtures, angle plates, rotary tables, or other necessary tools, to complete the operation on the work piece.
  • Applicant must be able to position and align work, block, and support and secure work to the machine table with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to produce micro finishes while boring and facing irregular-shaped difficult to hold aircraft components.
  • Applicant must be able to read and understand blueprints and complex sectional drawings.
  • The Conventional Machinist is responsible for ensuring that all the traceability for the work performed is complete and illegible.
  • Must be able to use a wide variety of precision measuring equipment, and layout and inspect own work. Must be willing to use SPC to improve the process capability of machine and processes.
  • Overtime may be required per business needs.



Selected applicant must possess a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience operating Conventional large mills, lathes, and CNC machines.

Requires a broad knowledge of machining practices and procedures, a high degree of skills and technique, and long-term experience.

This position requires knowledge of machining technology, mechanical principles, and advanced shop mathematics.

Must be familiar with statistical process control and total quality management techniques on boring mills and lathes.

Qualified applicant must have good verbal and written communication skills; must read, write, and speak English at a 12th grade level.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.


The pay rate is up to $23.00 hr.
The position is a 2nd shift position. Will need to be flexible, Training is up to 6 months on 1st shift.

Must be able to pass FAA Background and Drug Screen.

Must be able to prove citizenship (ITAR)
