Eliot’s Outpatient Clinic in Everett has an opening for a part time Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist.  This is an opportunity to join a committed team of professionals in providing mental health and recovery services to a diverse client population. Services include individual, group or family intervention with adults, children, adolescents, and elders.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide medication evaluation, prescription services, and monitoring and administration of psychopharmacologic agents and their side effects to clients and their families
  • Provide psychopharmacology consultation services to program staff regarding issues of medication and differential assessment of physical versus mental health
  • Collaborate with Emergency Services and may provide crisis intervention services to clients and their families as needed
  • Develop and implement goal-oriented treatment plans in accordance with Utilization Review standards, sound clinical practice, and in collaboration with  the client and clinician

Qualifications:

 

Requires an MSN, licensed and registered to practice in an expanded role of providing outpatient medical evaluations and prescribing services in Massachusetts and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist by the American Nurse Association and a minimum of 24 contact hours in pharmacotherapeutics which are beyond those acquired through generic nursing programs.  Valid registration(s) to issue written oral prescriptions or medication orders for controlled substances from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.  Experience in acute psychiatric care required.
