The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible to provide primary oversite of the facility-wide patient safety program and accreditation. This leadership role will direct others in the facility towards process improvement that will support the reduction of medical/health errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. This position will provide leadership for safety assessments, accreditation surveys, patient safety committee, education of managerial staff on system-based causes for medical error and literature-based ideas regarding effective strategies to improve hospital-wide patient safety. In addition, this position takes the lead on special projects and the development of policies impacting quality and safety.



Required Skills:
Candidates must be a licensed RN in the state of Illinois.  Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.  Candidates must have at least 3 years of nursing experience in direct patient care, ICU experience preferred.  Additionally candidates must have 2 years of experience in the areas of quality, safety, or risk management.
