GENERAL SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Ecommerce’s primary responsibility is to provide support to the Ecommerce team as it relates to database maintenance, and the collecting, writing, editing and uploading of content to PHG’s websites. The Coordinator also plays an active role in content syndication and development of PHG’s social media campaigns. The ultimate goal of the department is to increase revenue to hotels and Preferred Hotel Group through its brand websites.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Reporting to the Vice President, Ecommerce, the Coordinator, Web Content works closely with the Communications, Marketing, and Reservation Database Services departments. This position will also interact with member hotels.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Expert User on Preferred Hotel Group’s web content management system.
B. Solicit content from hotels; edit to meet brand standards and SEO requirements; post on websites; update as required.
C. Support implementation of search engine optimization strategies.
D. Resize hotel images and load on brand websites.
E. Load and maintain content for marketing campaigns on jump pages and individual hotel offer pages. Work with business owners on A/B testing and provide feedback on performance.
F. Syndicate PHG offer and news content through social and other online networks.
G. Assist in the development and management of PHG’s social media campaigns.
H. Assign Web Analytics tracking codes for all online marketing initiatives and upload into analytics database.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors degree required; English Major preferred
· 2-3 years experience in communications role inclusive of online experience
· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, a must
· Outstanding attention to detail required
· Ability to manage multiple constituencies and projects under tight deadline pressure required
· Understanding of travel/hospitality industry a plus, but not required
Technical Qualifications:
· Proficient in Mircrosoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
· Experience with database or content management software a plus
· Intermediate HTML coding skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working environment is located in one of the most distinct and highly appointed office buildings in downtown Chicago close to commuter lines (Metra, Brown, Orange, Blue and Red Lines). Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Employee is seated most of the time.
