Although headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, Raymond James has a secondary site in Southfield, Michigan. This 275 person office serves as a regional Operations Center and has a variety of opportunities. Current opportunities exist in Operations, Information Technology and Administration. Job Summary: Under general supervision, processes complex corporate actions, which may include both domestic and foreign issues, affecting client and firm positions. These actions are considered voluntary corporate actions, e.g., election mergers, tenders, or rights exercises, and require interpretation of legal materials to complete the process. May be required to provide training, guidance and assistance to other associates as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Determines required actions and processes by reading documents/materials furnished by affected companies. · Ensures Financial Advisors (FAs) are notified about corporate actions affecting their clients. · Processes voluntary offers. · When applicable, receives and processes client elections (instructions). · Updates client and firm accounts. · Provide answers and information to client inquires independent of Supervisor. Firm held liable for this information. · Provides training, guidance and assistance to other associates as needed. May be responsible for reviewing work of entry level associates for accuracy and completeness.
Knowledge of: · General office procedures. · Intermediate to high numeric reasoning/comprehension Skill in: · Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases at a high level. · Problem solving. Ability to: · Exercise sound, independent judgment and determine required actions by reading and interpreting the legal documents (prospectus) or written correspondence furnished by the affected company, depository, or Information Agent. · Organize and prioritize workload while meeting critical timing deadlines. · Contact companies, depositories, and transfer agents to obtain necessary documentation and forms to properly process corporate actions. · Create documents, spreadsheets, business correspondence, etc. · Resolve monetary or stock record out-of-balance situations. · Interact/communicate (both written and verbal) effectively and professionally with internal associates and external contacts at all levels. · Calculate percentages, balance accounts, and provide statistical data. Requires strong numeric aptitude. · Multi-task. · Display critical thinking, at a high level. · Train new associates, critique their work and assist co-associates with their assigned tasks. · Work in a structured, team-oriented environment with peaks in work volume. · Acquire and apply new information. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: · High School diploma or equivalent required and three (3) or more years experience in customer service or call center role preferred. ~or~ An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
