About the Job

Crown Agents USA, Inc. (CA-USA) seeks a Corporate Director for Health Systems Strengthening to spearhead our Group’s strategy and program development, donor and host country coordination, partner relationship building, and overall practice management for our global operations.  This position, based in Washington, D.C., involves responsibilities for developing, co-ordinating and growing Crown Agents Group activities in this important sector, including corporate headquarters in the UK as well as for CA’s network of 35 international offices.  The Corporate Director for Health Systems Strengthening is the key interlocutor for Crown Agents in this sector with our principal clients: USAID, DfID, the Global Fund, World Bank, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

As the leader of a dynamic team of business winners, this role requires fostering strong working relationships with other parts of the company (e.g., technical experts, project managers, and business support staff in our home and international offices).  The ability to bring together our diverse resources to produce winning proposals is an essential component of the position. Also through being an exceptional writer of winning themes leveraging our corporate expertise in strengthening public health systems in resource poor environments.

In addition to health systems strengthening, CA-USA provides a wide range of supply chain, capacity building, banking, and public financial management consultancy services in the areas of effective states and good governance, and economic growth and trade. 


 


Roles & Responsibilities




  • Provide leadership for strategic planning process for the future development and growth of the Crown Agents Group health portfolio.


  • Network with senior managers of key donor clients and senior officials of developing countries to identify business opportunities in the areas of health supply chain services, health financial systems and services, health infrastructure renovation/construction, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and other related areas.


  • Promote our unique value proposition through networking at a senior level with a wide variety of international and host country partners in order to develop “win themes” and strategic alliances responsive to clients’ programmatic needs.


  • Assist with the company’s process of analyzing health sector RFPs and other bidding documents to organize strategic planning sessions for determining required response, technical strategy and business posture vis-à-vis partners.


  • Assume ownership of the business development process in the health sector from opportunity identification through bid submission, and proactively ensuring stakeholder input and review are encouraged to the extent practicable.


  • Lead or oversee the work of health-related bid teams, including: developing the technical approach, personnel and management sections and corporate capability statements; monitoring each step of the proposal process; coordinating with partners and sub-partners.


  • Coordinate health proposal peer reviews prior to submission and after-action reviews to identify lessons learned.


  • Network closely with technical experts and project managers to ensure that corporate best practices are utilized to best advantage in meeting clients’ needs.

 


Qualifications




  • MA/MPH degree in health, business, or related field required.


  • 15+ years progressively responsible management in health programs or projects (project management, technical assistance etc.).


  • Significant experience in business development, bid management and/or proposal development in health.


  • Project management experience or technical assistance on international health projects highly desirable


  • Experience or knowledge of major donor strategies/programming requirements.  Familiarity with USAID, CDC, DfID, Global Fund, World Bank, Gates Foundation policies/procedures highly desirable.


  • Strong command of French, Portuguese or Arabic a plus.
