Summary:

 

 This highly visible and responsible position develops, implements, and guides the corporate AS9100 quality management process in conjunction with manufacturing operations.  Resolves quality problems via engineering and statistical problem solving techniques.

Oversees the preparation of quality reports and must be able to track corrective actions, direct problem-solving teams, and utilize statistical and other appropriate quality tools as necessary to permanently resolve and prevent problems.  The successful candidate will have significant experience in directing the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice systems, validating processes, providing documentation and managing staff.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 Will lead the corporate implementation of Quality Assurance by means of: Establishing inspection plans, creating inspection schedules, writing QA process and inspection procedures, maintaining data bases for document control and corrective actions, supporting regular AS9100 audits, providing weekly and monthly QA program status, and communicating regularly with the rest of the Senior Management Team.  

 

Specific duties include:

 

§         Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining systems improvements; implementing change.

§         Meets quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

§         Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.

§         Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.

§         Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.

§         Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.

§         Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

§         Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

§         B.S. Engineering Degree, 5+ years of Aerospace or related manufacturing experience, 5+ years

experience in implementation of AS9100 quality management program, with 5 or more years in a leadership role.  

§         Hands on experience with Process Improvement, Analyzing Information, Strategic Planning,

§         Quality Engineering, Emphasizing Excellence, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Lean, Six

              Sigma and project Management.  

§         GE-certified Six Sigma Blackbelt or Master Blackbelt with first-hand experience in hardware

              Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).  

§         Engineering undergraduate degree + MBA + GE’s Mgr Development Course (MDC) graduate

              (preferred).  

§         20+ yrs of Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality team management experience.
