JOB OVERVIEW

Location: Princeton, NJ

Tyco is committed to recruiting and developing top MBAs, CPAs, and Masters Students in Accounting or Finance for the next generation of finance leaders in our organization. You will build a strong foundation of corporate and operational finance knowledge, technical skills, and business acumen. We are offering the opportunity for graduate-level students to work in one of the following areas: Treasury, Accounting, Controls & Compliance, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Business Development. Interns will execute finance requirements and gain exposure to a wide variety of financial and business processes across a large global organization.

Roles & Responsibilities
Vary by function
• Conduct economic analysis of securities repurchase (straight debt vs. convertible debt vs. common stock) and execute buyback program
• Provide capital structure analysis and recommendations
• Monitor company's interest rate risk, including management of multi-billion dollar swap portfolio
• Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to find cost-effective alternatives to letters of credit, including negotiation of applicable documents with beneficiary and bank to ensure credit capacity for L/Cs is utilized efficiently
• Perform controls assessment, testing, and review of targeted Corporate processes
• Forecast, analyze, and report Corporate Department Expense
• Assist in the monthly review and analysis of the operating segment results and the consolidated intercompany reconciliation process; prepare reports distributed to the Tyco senior leadership team
• Assist in preparing, compiling and analyzing the monthly corporate expense, headcount reports and/or Corporate Financial Review schedules and package
• Reconcile and analyze a range of general ledger accounts; explain and resolve variances
• Use data to analyze and identify strategic opportunities to drive decision making (i.e. price analysis, cost drivers, process mapping, and specifications)
• Execute requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (assessment of internal controls)
• Utilize such tools as Hyperion Enterprise Consolidation System and Oracle to assist in managing responsibilities
• Consult with business unit subject matter experts to understand Tyco business needs
• Continuously identify areas for process improvements
• Link analytical information with experience and insights

Education
• In pursuit of a MBA or Masters Degree in Finance/Accounting
Experience
• At least 3 years of professional experience in finance or a technical field
• A record of achievement and driving results.
• Programming experience a plus
Skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to build sophisticated financial models
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Self-starter, quick learner, and adaptable to changing business requirements
• Ability to influence, motivate, and lead others effectively
