BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW Global University Relations supports Tyco’s early career talent recruitment, management, and development strategy across all 5 business segments in the U.S., China, and India. The Global University Relations team partners with human resources generalists, talent acquisition mangers, hiring managers, Tyco leadership, and campus career offices to execute the recruitment and early career development strategy.
POSITION OVERVIEW The intern will work on project-based assignments that support strategic development, planning and implementation of Global University Relations programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to hone project management and organizational skills in a highly interactive and well-connected corporate and business environment with teams based in the US, China and India.
Location: Princeton, NJ Reporting to: Sr. Director, Global University Relations
Roles & Responsibilities • Assist with implementation of Tyco Summer Intern Program, Class 2010: 1. Lead the intern-only lunch series 2. Coordinate key events for the Princeton campus; liaise with other Tyco business locations and connect interns for Executive Roundtables via webinar and video conference 3. Write intern communications for weekly Princeton site news and other potential channels 4. Create intern shadowing program, drive execution, report results • Perform analysis of 2008-2009 campus recruiting results, key school performance measures and metrics; prepare market and target school information against Tyco key school selection criteria • Support the development of the 2010-2011 Business Plan for campus recruiting and relationship programs: talent acquisition, key school partnership & programs, and executive engagement. Build the recruiting event calendar • Assist with web-based projects that can give Tyco a competitive edge to attract, recruit and retain early career talent by creating a virtual community for summer interns and campus recruits • Create, distribute, and analyze intern and hiring manager surveys and results to drive improvement for future programs
