We are currently seeking the following professional to join our team:
Corporate Health Information Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Ideal candidate is responsible for coordinating data entry of client health information and service documentation into the comprehensive clinical-financial computer system, while assuring compliance with OPRS standards and federal, state and local guidelines. Must be knowledgeable of and supports the philosophy, purpose, goals and policies of OPRS/Senior Independence and consistently complies with the Home Health and /or Hospice Bill of Rights.
Job Duties:
• Review or coordinate clinical data entry of assessments, medications, diagnosis, problems, goals and interventions, and payers into computer system
• Assist in completion of final audits of clinical and billing records for Medicare, MAPS, and Hospice
• Assure accurate data entry to create an accurate client bill, responsible for accurate, timely billing and follow up of claims
• Assist with ongoing Allscripts-related training and consultation to local sites. Provides troubleshooting on problems with data entry, synching, using reports, location of information, and operations processes
• Maintain current and accurate client records through use of computer laptops and paper/chart documentation in accordance with OPRS policies, federal, state, and local guidelines
• Must follow Senior Independence protocols in all areas of the computer system, understands other parts of the system and provides assistance to others in related areas as needed
• Perform export and follow up of OASIS assessments to the Ohio Department of Health. Prepares Monthly Casper Reports from the Ohio Department of Health Website
• Perform inquiries in the Florida Shared system to check eligibility and payment status
•Develop and maintain close working relationships with employees and contracted staff to coordinate transfer and/or editing of clinical and billing information
• Participates in the orientation, in-service and continuing education of hospice/home health staff as requested; keeping the staff current with changes in health care procedures and policies as needed
Education/Certifications:
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Two (2) years college education preferred. (Clinical, Medical Records or Business preferred)
• Certifications of Homecare Coding Diagnosis, Specialists (HCS-D), Certificate for OASIS Specialist and Clinical (COS-C) required, can obtain during first (1) year of employment
Work Experience:
• Prefer at least two (2) years of medical record or health care billing experience
• One year of experience in a hospice or home health agency is also preferred
• Working knowledge of office based computer programs; such as Word, and Excel (minimum level 1 competency preferred)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, and diagnosis coding
