Corporate Human Resources Manager- Training and Development

SpaceX is revolutionizing access to space by developing a family of launch vehicles and spacecraft intended to increase the reliability and reduce the cost of both manned and unmanned space transportation, ultimately by a factor of ten. Our current product line includes the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 launch vehicle as well as our Dragon Space capsule. 

We are looking for an experienced, world-class Corporate Human Resources Manger to champion our efforts to align our HR processes to the amazing growth we have experienced as an organization.  The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing current processes and making recommendations on where and how we can make strategic improvements.  This is a new position and carries with it a unique opportunity to create new systems and processes as well as make significant improvement to existing ones.  The level of creative license will be high but so will responsibility; we are looking for someone that is seasoned, confident and prepared to rise to the challenge. 

Selected candidate will join the SpaceX HR team, with a primary duty of leading execution of this year’s employee evaluations and will then more forward to tackle several other strategic projects.  This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.   Please do review the required skills in detail and only apply if you feel that the breadth and depth of your experience encompasses all of the noted requirements. 

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years directly related experience required
• Bachelors degree required
• Must have previous experience creating and executing employee evaluation procedures from cradle to grave
• Extensive experience developing and administering training sessions to employees
• Commanding knowledge of organizational development techniques and applications
• Experience in a strategic HR function with extensive individual responsibilities and accountability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good working knowledge of all areas if HR including but not limited to:  employee relations, benefits, HRIS implementation, workers compensation, affirmative action and other HR legal requirements
• Managing multiple high pressure projects with strict deadlines while maintaining equally high levels of output will be required
• Ability to work well with cross-functional team as well as with executive staff
• Must have a dynamic, energetic, and passionate approach to Human Resources

Desired Experience:

• Experience working in both small start -up environments as well as more established large firms is a plus
• Prior employment with a high technology company with a manufacturing segment within its operations is a plus
