Job Description

 

The Mobile Application Developer is responsible for the specifications, design, and development of cutting-edge mobile applications. In this role you will work as a member of the Mobile Application Development Team to deliver easy to use mobile applications for the various Cvent products. These mobile applications will target multiple platforms including iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7. The right candidate will have educational exposure and some work experience in one or more of these platforms, strong passion for focusing on usability during application development, a strong understanding of the software development life cycle and strong communication skills. 

 

Position Duties:

  • Specification, design, development, and debugging of mobile applications that perform well and are extremely user friendly.
  • Using design patterns to solve application issues.
  • Evaluate and research latest technologies.
  • Support production issues.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; desired majors include Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.
  • Successful candidates will have some relevant mobile application development experience in an educational environment. Mobile development in a professional environment is preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with mobile application development on one or more of these platforms: iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7. Experience with multiple platforms is highly desired.
  • Experience with creating and consuming Web Services and knowledge of SOA.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts.
  • Awareness of security issues related to mobile application development.
  • Experience building mobile friendly web sites and web applications would be a big plus.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are required.
