Operates as a strategic business partner to develop and implement human resource programs, plans, policies, and procedures for the sales and marketing organizations within the John Morrell Food Group. Plans, develops, implements and administers HR programs for Retail, Foodservice, and Deli sales teams; marketing employees as well as generalist support for Cincinnati Corporate offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops and aligns HR initiatives in support of the client group’s business strategy.
• Manage employee relations issues, incident investigations and discipline/corrective actions for assigned client groups. Ensure consistent application of rules and policies.
• Drive consistent staffing processes to ensure top talent in sales, marketing and Cincinnati office including sourcing strategies, consistent interview practices, job offers and employee orientation; measure staffing effectiveness including turnover analysis and action planning.
• Coach and counsel managers regarding employee relations issues in order to address employee issues effectively.
• Coordinate and enforce HR policies, processes, systems and reporting activities consistent with compliance with regulatory issues such as EEO, AAP, FMLA and FLSA.
• Provides management education on HR programs and policies.
• Ensures consistent execution of compensation and benefit programs including merit, bonus, and promotional counseling. Provide management education on salary administration and performance management.
• Manages the delivery of approved training programs to meet organization needs to drive business growth and employee development; provide career planning and development counseling to employees.
Education, Skills and Experience
• BS/BA in Business, Human Resources or a related field or equivalent experience required; Masters Degree preferred.
• Must have had prior experience working in a Corporate environment
10 years experience human resource experience to include 5 + years generalist experience at the manager level; 3-5 years HR experience supporting CPG sales and marketing client groups required.
• Prior experience working with salary incentive planning tools preferred; 2-3 years training and organizational development experience desired e.g., performance and talent management.
• A solid understanding of employment law, both Federal and State.
• Excellent analytical and communications skills sufficient to evaluate situations and communicate solutions; strong presentation skills
• Proven Leadership and the ability to objectively coach through complex, difficult and emotional issues
• The ability to research and analyze various data and exercise sound judgment to effectively resolve issues consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and laws
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Must be able to travel up to 50% of time .
