SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT - milne $75,000 - $85,000 plus benefits package My client is a global multi $billion government contractor located in the DC Metro area. They are looking to expand their tax department and have an immediate opening for a Senior Tax Accountant. You will report to a Senior Tax Manager covering the following main duties:- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns. Assist in accounting for income taxes pursuant to SFAS 109. Conduct special tax projects (financial impact analyses, tax provisions and liability forecasts). Obtain data to comply with IRS, state, and local audit requests. Interface with divisional finance personnel regarding matters related to tax compliance. Review new / existing tax, court cases, regulations and rulings to ensure minimization of the corporate tax burden. Audit financial records to determine relevant tax liability. Prepare claims for tax refunds, maintains tax records, prepare routine and special tax reports for management. Perform income tax compliance, such as returns, extensions, forecasts, and tax provisions for Business Sectors and certain corporate heritage business units. Assist in the training and development of newly hired entry level tax professionals. Qualifications :
To be considered for this fulltime vacancy you should ideally posses a BS degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Master in Tax preferred), minimum five years experience gained in either public accounting or large corporate company, exposure to federal, state and local tax returns.
