Immediate need for a Corporate Tax Manager! This position is located in NW Georgia. Please see requirements below! Please note- the successful candidate will have experience as a corporate tax manager NOT working for an accounting firm filing individual tax returns! Salary is DOE and ranges from 80-95K. Must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 5-7 yrs experience. Tax manager will report to Controller and Treasurer.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business management
- Minimum of 5-7 years in relevant tax consulting experience preferably in a fast paced sales and distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Broad exposure to federal, state and local taxation
Skills:
- Ability to handle total responsibility for all tax needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of multi-state credit and incentive programs.
- Be able to effectively apply state-specific income tax laws to business situations among business unit managers and department managers
- Strong computer skills including Excel and ability to learn internal systems
- Effective and excellent negotiation, reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral) with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers
- Proven ability to exercise sound business judgment.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities in order to accomplish goals in a timely manner both individually and within a team
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Corporate Controller and Treasurer in documenting tax reporting policy and procedures.
- Understand, learn and evaluate operations of all business units – Industrial Engines, Marine, Construction, Agriculture, Large Engines and Parts.
- Monitor regularly and implement tax policy.
- Conduct regular meetings with business unit managers to educate them on any or recent tax laws affecting their business operations.
- Work with Deloitte & Touche tax team, Corporate Controller and Treasurer in preparation of schedules for federal and state corporate income tax return.
- Coordinate and analyze quarterly payroll tax reporting from ADP statements of filings and deposits.
- Route, analyze, solve and respond to routine IRS or state tax notices.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual cencus from Dept of Commerce and other state tax jurisdictions.
- Lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex areas.
- Work with Corporate Controller and audit team on preparation of schedules for various federal, state and local tax credits and incentives like federal research & development credit, GA retraining credit, GA employment tax credit, etc.
- Analyze accounts with tax accruals and other tax implications.
- Monitor and ensure that all property taxes are paid timely.
- Assist in managerial reporting; project participation, and implementation.
- Pro-active participation in identifying best practices and developing policies and procedures.
- Active participation in continuous improvement projects; and other activities assigned by Controller, Treasurer and COO.
