My client a manufacturing company with an office in the Leigh valley is seeking an experienced cost accountant. This is a hands on soup to nuts cost accounting role. You must be comfortable in assisting with the month end close and getting involved in the plant. The main duties of this role include but are not limited to: • Prepare monthly cost of sales data for inclusion in the company's financial statements. • Co-ordinate and develop cost of sales, overhead and inventory budgets and forecasts • Physical Inventory counts and/or reconciliations • Develop and maintain Standard Costs for inventory items. • Analyze trends in manufacturing costs, track cost savings and improvement projects • Report on and analyze manufacturing overhead expenses • Analyze work orders, raw materials, and package purchase price variances on a monthly basis • Maintain, analyze and report capital expenditures by project (CIP) / fixed assets and depreciation for the Company • Prepare monthly journal entries. • Run month end inventory and ERP reports. Perform closing procedures and close ERP System modules • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for inventories and fixed assets • Assist in the creation of company policy and procedure documentation • Contribute to special financial projects and initiatives, including costing If interested in this or similar positions, please e-mail a word version of your resume to ned.kauffman@roberthalf.com

Qualifications :
• 4 year accounting degree • CMA or CPA desired • 3-5 years senior cost accounting experience preferably within a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management • Excellent Excel Skills • Prior experience in ERP Systems preferred Ross or SAP. • System implementation experience desirable
