Providing temperature-controlled environments for food and other perishables are essential in today's global market. Through our Climate Control Technologies sector and Thermo King and Hussmann brands, we provide global solutions for the transportation and retail refrigeration market.

We are currently seeking an experienced Cost Accountant at our Minneapolis, MN location.

As the Cost Accountant you will:

• Cross-train within the cost accounting group and within the total organization
  
  
• Work with experienced cost accountants to learn Ingersoll Rand accounting policies, system processes, and to develop relationships with cross functional teams
  
  
• Build thorough knowledge of product line costing methodology for bills of material and understand how the costs flow through the financial systems
  
  
• Generate periodic reports and provide analysis to Senior Cost accounts, Plant Controller, and Operations partners
  
  
• Prepare monthly operations review reports, overhead spending analysis reports, and assist in the annual operating plan
  
  
• Gain an understanding of the cost and productivity drivers of factory operations and understand and analyze key financial metrics and methods of analysis
  
  
• Complete productivity savings verifications and reporting
  
  
• Complete inflation reporting and research/analyze variances
  
  
• Assist in the setting of standard costs and assist with the standard cost roll at year-end
  
  
• Assist and support Sarbanes Oxley by adhering to documented processes and assisting with testing. Complete Sarbanes Oxley training and review existing processes to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
  
  
• 1+ years experience
  
  
• Computer literate with Microsoft Excel, Oracle helpful
  
  
• Ability to manage time successfully while handling pressure situations
  
  
• Strong sense of accuracy and orientation to detail
  
  
• Good negotiation and relationship development skills
  
  
• Availability to work on weekends/evenings to complete closings
