Cost Accountant

Manpower Professional has a great permanent opportunity for a Global Cost Accountant.

This position would play an integral role in the global cost accounting team. This position would not have any direct reports currently, but it would have the potential to grow towards that if desired. There are currently 3 other cost accountants in the organization, all reporting to the controller - - this role would also report to the Controller, who owns cost accounting for the entire organization. This role would be the only cost accountant at the same site as the controller, and would have the opportunity to place a large role in global cost accounting standardization and innovation.

Specific responsibilities (in addition to normal cost accounting duties) are to include:
· Deal with cost discrepancies between the plants
· Monitor and clean up income statements, period costs, etc.
· Prefer someone who is able to "watch the farm" while the Controller is away
· Perform rate calculations

The ideal candidate would have the following:
· Five years of Cost Accounting experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
· Global experience - prefer someone with experience in cost accounting across an entire organization, as opposed to just being divisionally focused, etc, (although that experience might be okay in the right candidate.)
· Big picture thinker - someone who has energy and a take charge attitude who can not just manage tasks based on "the way they've done things in the past at other companies", but instead look at overall processes, and be able to identify issues and propose improvements. Looking for more than just someone who can run reports and be a technical manager.
· Experience with both manufacturing and distribution companies. This company has heavy/combined operations in both areas, and this introduces cost accounting complexities beyond what a pure manufacturer would face.
· Fast to ramp up and able to generate quality work product.

Nice to have skills include:
· Oracle ERP (11.5.10) experience
· Agile software experience (used to track inventory within the org)
· Microsoft Access experience
· Advanced Microsoft Office experience

Strong preference for candidates who can work permanently in MN (Minneapolis/SW Twin Cities area).
