Craneworks, Inc. is a small business specializing in US Department of Defense weight handling equipment installations, inspections, repairs, maintenance, and testing.  Our customer base is located primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region.  We are celebrating 10 years in business with a steady growth pattern each year.  

We are seeking a  highly motivated Crane Technician / Inspector.  The position involves inspection of equipment components through use of hand tools, measuring devices, senses, etc.   The position is responsible for maintaining customer safety and quality; by ensuring proper operation of electrical systems, electronic components, mechanical devices, and structural aspect of machinery and equipment.  

Additionally, the position is responsible for troubleshooting electronic, electrical, and mechanical deficiencies to determine most effective repair method.  

 

Must be competant in reading and application of electrical and mechanical schematics, and comfortable using test equipment.   

This position requires the following:    the ability to lift 40-60 lbs, stand for extended hours, Clean driving record, Class A CDL drivers license or willingness to obtain one within 3 mos of hire, willingness to attend US NAVY training and certification classes or other training as deemed necessary.  Travel required  (80% M-F).     Salary:  Open

 

Duties:

* Service existing DOD Customers and maintain quality relations by providing timely response to equipment issues. 

* Troubleshoot deficiencies for repair options, perform preventative maintenance, execute inspections and load testing.

* Provide repair documentation to include defining deficiency, identify replacement parts, estimate labor time required, etc.

* Share historical experiences and training with team through OJT.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.  Stays current with changes in standards as related to position. 

* Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.  Submits reports, documentation and data on a timely basis as directed.

* Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Equipment Maintenance, Power Tools, Basic Safety, Technical Aptitude and Understanding, Attention to Detail, Crane Industry experience, Knowledge of 3-phase motor control circuits.  Must posses a strong desire to product quality and results.  Must be willing to travel M-F. Ability to operate Forklift, Pallet Jack, Man Lift, misc electrical equipment.  Overhead crane operation a plus.  Class a valid (clean) driver's license  -  Class A preferred.
