Subprocess: Marketing Communications

The Creative Director will lead, direct, project manage, facilitate, and perform a variety of creative, design, multimedia, production, marketing, and strategic communication responsibilities as part of the Marketing Communications subprocess of TG. These responsibilities include development and management of brand and image, campaigns, collateral, and activities that represent the corporation and markets, communicates, and provides awareness of TG’s products, programs, and services to student financial aid industry customers, business associates, industry events, TG team members, families and students, and the general public.


EDUCATION REQUIRED: We require a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Minimum of ten years experience in a creative role, plus demonstrated success in leading a design team and in a corporate environment. Experience managing corporate brands and marketing communication activities required. The Creative Director must possess extensive skills and detailed knowledge as follows: broad-based creative and design expertise in a wide variety of media, with a strong emphasis on marketing and advertising; brand and identity management; supervisory skills with a creative team, including thorough understanding of team motivation and design critique; creative copy-writing skills with the aptitude to think in words and pictures; deep knowledge of design software; photography art direction; and facilitation skills. Knowledge of all aspects of communication disciplines, including marketing communications, advertising, media and public relations, printed and electronic design and content development and management, multimedia design, Web design, production, communication planning, strategy development, and project management. Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills and knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree preferred. Knowledge of student financial assistance, college counseling, or admissions is preferred.
