SUMMARY
As part of the BPNA Credit and Customer Finance team, the incumbent will conduct risk analysis and submit credit risk / limit recommendations for new and existing customers. Duties will include customer and portfolio risk analysis, developing key relationships and conducting periodic account reviews. The Credit Analyst will report to the Vice President of Credit & Customer Finance, Brightpoint NA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and submit credit recommendations for approval:
· Depending on credit limit requested size, analyze the financial condition of existing and prospective customers, including scoring model reviews of company financial statements. Evaluate company performance under GAAP as required.
· Write credit reports using defined scoring models summarizing company history, business opportunities and financial performance of Brightpoint customers and prospective clients.
· Discuss key risks and opportunities with local management.
2. Portfolio Management:
· Monitor a portfolio of accounts. Request financial information and discuss sensitive company information with the customers management. Accounts will be reviewed on a periodic basis according to credit exposure and risk.
· Stay informed of current events for portfolio customers through public information resources and databases.
· Develop key relationships with company financial contacts and internal stakeholders
· Interact proactively with internal stakeholders to stay current of internal needs, business priorities and credit requirements
3. Additional Responsibilities would include:
· The incumbent may be assigned various projects to promote short-term and long-term development. These initiatives will require coordination and integration with other departments.
· Reporting and presentation duties as needed.
· Customer visits as needed
· Stay up to date on credit functional trends / priorities and issues by interacting with Global Credit
Experience and Skills:
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Ability to have high-level conversations with key financial contacts and internal decision makers regarding the financial performance of Brightpoint customers.
· The candidate will need a solid knowledge of credit analysis.
· Credit analysis experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College degree with a major in Finance and/or Accounting (GPA 3.0 or above)
Two to three years experience of credit analyst experience preferably in similar industries
Presentation experience (including preparation and delivery)
Proficiency in Excel required. Knowledge of MS Access is a plus
Post graduate degree preferred but not required.
