Credit Manager, Americas – Tinley Park, IL

 

The Credit Manager role includes managing and directing a department of individuals composed of credit and collection analysts and associates. This position will be responsible for managing the activities of credit approval and credit collection and oversee analysis of accounts receivable and adherence to KPM’s for the North and South American regions (this includes DSO, A/R Ledger, percent current and bad debt as a percentage of sales).

 

The person in this role will direct and ensure adherence to corporate credit policy and manages the extension of credit to customers to minimize bad debt losses and maximize profitable sales. They will assist sales management with customer related issues such as deduction strategy and terms creation. In addition the credit manager will be responsible for the following:

 

·         Manage and advise collection strategy for problem or bad debt accounts. 

·         Analyze, evaluate and establish appropriate credit lines following corporate policy.

·         Manage Ship & Debit Audit process. 

·         Handle special credit arrangements. 

·         Interact effectively with sales force and customers.

·         Lead monthly collector A/R ledger reviews. 

·         Train, develop and manage collections staff as necessary. 

·         Work closely with accounting related to North and South American receivable matters. 

·         Work closely with Customer Service on disputed customer return issues. 

·         Work closely with Sales and A/R department to support financial and management reporting needs, process improvements, and customer research and risk assessments.

·         Manage Monthly A/R Reviews with Global Credit Manager and provide recommendations.

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelors degree in Business or Finance required.

·         Minimum 5-8 years of experience. Ideally with previous experience in a ship & debit sales environment.

·          Significant experience with full spectrum of financial analyses. Adapts financial analysis methods to support the corporate goals. Has worked with all major financial analysis approaches and quantitative and qualitative measures.

·          Has in depth knowledge and experience with a full range of financial record keeping tools. Creates and implements organizational standards, methods, and procedures for financial record keeping.

·         Has in-depth knowledge and experience with a full range of financial report writing tools. Creates and implements organizational standards, methods, and procedures for financial reporting.

·         Significant experience designing, implementing, and monitoring a full spectrum of finance programs. Understanding of laws and regulations as they evolve in key government agencies and legislatures.

·         Significant experience managing corporate cash assets. Ability to establish and implement cash management strategies and best practices.

·         Extensive experience with a variety of audit methods, tools, and techniques.

·         Hands-on experience interpreting specific accounting principles.
