Customer Service Specialist working at our Plainfield, IN Logistics Center

This position serves as a focal point where sales orders are received and processed. The Account Specialist is the liaison between the Company and the Company's customers. The position is also responsible for partnering activities with customers.

The Account Specialist works directly with external customers as well as other support groups within the Company to communicate information pertaining to a specific customer order issue so that the Company's service level is satisfactorily achieved.

Position responsibilities:
 1. Receive sales orders and/or changes for input into the system,.
 2. Check price sheets, and notify Regional Sales Manager and Broker when price discrepancies occur.
 3. Project product availability daily against open orders for regional items, identify potential shortfalls, pursue mitigation of shorts, escalate issues as needed for resolution. Proactively communicate any issues that remain with Customers, Sales, Brokers, etc.
 4. Contact Regional Sales Manager and Marketing to determine if orders should be filled when the order is under the minimum order quantity. Place order on Customer Service hold.
 5. Advise Indiana Supply System group, Regional Sales Manager, Broker, Customer for approval and/or cancellation when a backorder is created.
 6. Provide tactical support to ensure proper inventory is maintained at Customer's DC for attainment of in-stock goals.
 7. Monitor customer ordering patterns to aid in forecast tracking and updating.
 8. Maintain account specific special shipping instructions within DLX and BPCS systems; audit to ensure compliance.
 9. Assist in research and resolution of charge backs.
 10. Monitor in-stock percentages, ASN compliance, and any other customer specific metrics, investigating any shortfall to goal and drive correction.
 11. Publish NP Orders-Shipped-Complete-and-On-Time (OSCOT) measures weekly/monthly along with Customer's Vendor Rating Metric for comparable time period.
 12. Maintain/Publish reasons for less than 100% service for all region's accounts.
 13. Resolve delivery exceptions with carriers and customers.
 14. All other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or Business School graduate preferred.

Experience Required: Three years experience in Customer Service or Sales Administration position.

Knowledge Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office with concentration in Excel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
