Customer Service Associate - Purchasing

About the Job

What you will do:


 


Reporting to the Service Supervisor, the Customer Service Associate is responsible for the following duties but not limited to:



 


• Create and route purchase orders for approval.


• Create Sales Orders.


• Take and place calls responding in a timely manner to internal customers, service personnel, field offices, team members and management.


• Coordinate order changes, adjustments and cancellations.


• Establish and monitor vendor price schedules


• Collaborate with other districts/departments to ensure that procedures are followed.


• Maintain FireMaster’s Item catalog.


• Conduct district inventories and cycle counts as needed.


• Assist district inventory specialists with their responsibilities and act as their backup when needed.


• Maintain a professional manner at all times with customers, service personnel, field offices, team members and management.


• Other duties as assigned.











What we look for:


Required:




  • 3- 5 years customer support role with purchasing experience required. 

  • The ability to quickly learn and apply fundamentals of our industry is essential.

  • Be a proactive individual with strong customer service skills.

  • Must be able to manage multiple requests and tasks in a fast paced environment.

  • Action oriented with high attention to detail and accuracy needed.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.


 


Preferred:



  • Experience with a computerized inventory management system a plus.

  • Fire Suppression Industry experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work within established timelines and collaborate across departments to achieve results.

  • Passion for supporting a customer service oriented business environment.

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office programs, excel, word and web based programs.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

  • Highly motivated and results driven.
