JOB SUMMARY
With direct supervision, this position receives, reviews and processes routine employee benefits claims cases through the utilization of Company systems to ensure the handling of claims in an accurate and timely manner.
REPORTING STRUCTURE & WORK SETTING
This position typically performs work at a field location and normally reports to a supervisor or manager level with claims responsibility. However, incumbents may take direction and seek assistance from more experienced Claims Processors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Successfully completes training to become knowledgeable in tax-advantaged spending and saving accounts and programs that include but are not limited to flexible spending accounts, dependent care, tuition assistance, adoption reimbursement, transit and parking programs, tuition assistance, COBRA, and health spending accounts.
2. Receives, reviews and verifies employee benefits claims including but not limited to flexible spending accounts, commuter claims, dependent care, tuition assistance, etc., following standard operating procedures.
3. Using skill to distinguish, determine and categorize claims information involved, enters claims case data into the system by selecting the appropriate options from drop-down lists, check-boxes and other available data classification options.
4. Upon adjudication of the claim, finalizes and processes claims paperwork following standard operating processes.
5. Takes measures to ensure that sensitive information remains confidential following and adhering to department policies, processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
EDUCATION:
Fundamental knowledge of math and English as normally obtained through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:
The ability to effectively process routine benefits claims cases in an efficient and accurate manner as normally obtained through some experience in customer service is preferred. Experience or exposure to banking operations, employee benefits plans, or card operations is also preferred.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The ability to use a computer and web-based tools to perform work is essential.
Incumbents must have a strong attention for details and have good typing skills. The ability to type at least 50 words per minute with a 95% accuracy rate is preferred. Additionally, an aptitude for math and basic math skills are required.
The ability to maintain the confidence of sensitive information is essential.
Knowledge of healthcare plans and flexible spending account (FSA) benefits is preferred but not required.
EQUIPMENT:
Proficiency with a PC and common Windows operating systems such as Word and Outlook are essential. A good familiarity, understanding and proficiency with web-based tools are also required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS
No travel is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS & DEMANDS
Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS
This position entails a high level of work performed at a computer terminal throughout the day. On a frequent basis, incumbents are subject to prolonged sitting and repetitive motions at a computer terminal. Incumbents must use eye-hand coordination regularly to operate office equipment and perform work.
