We are actively looking for experienced Medical Billing Customer Service Representatives to join our dynamic team in our Tinley Park, IL office.


 


JOB SUMMARY: 


The primary purpose of the Customer Service Call Center is to manage the incoming call volume associated with answering physician billing related questions. These efforts will support in servicing the patients’ billing inquiries for the multiple contracted clients of Springfield Service Corporation.  It is also the Call Center’s objective to handle and effectively manage call volume to ensure clients’ contractual agreements and call center guidelines are being met.


 


The core responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative is to support patients’ billing inquires as it relates to explanation of benefits, financial assistance, patient disputes, insurance verification, credit card payments and other billing inquiries. 


 


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Handling inbound call volume within call center metrics guidelines and productivity expectations
  • Properly updating account information (registration, insurance, etc)
  • Provide detailed documentation for all accounts
  • Follow-up on all customer related issues not resolved during initial contact
  • Patient call backs
  • Handling and completing patient correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Other duties as assigned

 


 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations and billing practices 
  • Service oriented attitude – willingness to provide quality assistance to patients and diffuse irate callers when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify/resolve problems and document the outcome
  • Ability to adapt to fast pace, changing environment
  • Strong initiative to learn to tasks and demonstrate the skill to apply acquired knowledge to future duties
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Conduct self in an ethical, honest, and professional manner
  • Demonstrate collaborative, team-oriented approach

 


 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Healthcare industry experience required
  • 6 - 12 months experience in medical billing preferred
  • 6 – 12 months experience in a high-volume call center required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with medical billing systems preferred: IDX or Epic experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required
