About the Job:
The responsibility of the eCommerce Merchant Account Manager is to consistently generate profitable sales growth of the assigned product categories, commensurate with the potential of the market by managing a select group of merchants in the Buy.com marketplace. You will accomplish this by analyzing your market and by developing and executing on sales and category plans to maximize opportunities. You will also coordinate with the marketing team, customer service team and IT groups on projects and initiatives to drive and grow the business. The key to sustaining sales growth will be in your ability to plan and execute promotions within your category as well as influence and advise merchants to develop their businesses through active participation in promotions and advertising on Buy.com to achieve sales objectives.
About the Candidate:
Must be a self-starter; with previous account management experience (1 – 3 years) and a thorough knowledge of eCommerce. Previous online sales and/or marketplace sales experience a plus. Candidate will possess keen problem-solving and superior communication skills. Must be proficient with Excel. Bachelor’s degree required.
Position Responsibilities:
Drive sustainable sales growth by consistently meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs).
KPIs include: Commissionable marketplace merchant GMV goals, securing advertising and co-op dollars from merchants, working with merchants on adoption of new tools and functions available to them. Possess and develop a keen understanding of the product market, its local characteristics and growth opportunities, and implement targeted actions plans to achieve goals. Monitor sales reports daily for success and identify gaps to take corrective action on both a promotion and longer-term basis. Web-site management with extensive use of internal content and product management tools.
