Customer Service/Warehouse/Office Generalist
Sonna USA Inc. is a member of the Belgium-based Sonna Group, an international distributor and convertor of high quality African textiles. Sonna is the exclusive North-American distributor of Vlisco textiles from Holland.
Sonna is rapidly growing its business in the United States and is searching for a
Customer Services/Warehouse/Office Generalist to grow with us.
Reporting to the General Manager and located in Ashburn, Virginia, the candidate’s main responsibilities will include:
Customer Service:
1) Handle all incoming telephone calls as first priority.
2) Pro-active in contacting customers when new products arrive.
3) Schedule and Receive (potential) customers in our showroom.
4) Prepare newsletters.
5) Receive, control, and expedite orders.
6) Oversee customer payments.
7) Update QuickBooks with all relevant customer information.
8) Ensure that all paperwork related to orders is issued.
9) Invoicing customers and verification of vendor invoices.
Warehouse Management:
1) Unloading containers and preparing shipments.
2) Monthly inventory control.
3) Review inventory targets at predefined reorder points and adjust shipments accordingly.
4) Ensure a good, continued contact with transportation companies.
5) Secure FIFO, proper housekeeping, administer warehouses.
1) Perform administrative, clerical and support duties.
2) Ensure that all IT-systems are utilised to maximize efficiencies.
3) Ensure that all suggestions for improvements are implemented.
4) Ensure that all customer service procedures are regularly revised and updated.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
· A minimum of two years experience in the mentioned areas.
· Customer service skills including phone interaction and written documentation.
· Driven, dedicated, and ambitious; with a real passion for the product and the market.
· Proactive, take initiatives, and improvise.
· Able to work independently in a small office environment.
· Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects meeting deadlines.
· Bookkeeping experience, or desire to learn.
· Excellent computer skills--proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Ability to adapt to ever-changing work environment.
· Willing to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
· Ability to work in a physically-demanding environment with much lifting, loading and
packing.
