Customization Systems Program Manager

Responsible for engineering programs through coordination of multiple projects across multiple disciplines including but not limited to the different engineering job families (e.g., electrical, systems, mechanical, etc.). Manages the life cycle of the program ensuring the deadlines are achieved and day-to-day functions of the program and related projects take place as required. Works with engineering management to identify and improve overall efficiency of the program in the future. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross functional initiatives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.
BS degree in technical field or equivalent .
Experience leading multi-functional teams (IT, development, validation, support) to create and develop solutions for customized services on PCs (net/notebooks, desktops, thin clients, and workstations)
Effectively collects/extracts information from various sources and distills the results into clear and concise requirements used by multiple teams to develop solutions to meet those requirements.
Experience driving processes from creation, through worldwide deployment, of solutions created by teams associated with customization services
Ability to convert customer requirements and understanding of business systems into business requirements (BRDs) and manage projects in IT linked to development and deployment of overall customization needs and business strategy
Candidate must be comfortable and familiar with technical concepts and have experience working in or with software development and IT organizations
Ability to manage and coordinate detailed project plans and ensure high to low-level cohesiveness of the overall program is essential
Ability to manage change across globally affected business groups and regions is key
Ability to develop and manage BRDs and interface with technical teams a must
Current PMI certification, and Lean Sigma Certification or training is strongly preferred
