Headquarter in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida, VAS Aero Services is a global provider of aftermarket services in the aviation industry.  As we grow our organization, we are seeking to fill the new position of Customs Compliance Analyst to assist in our Trade Compliance activities.  If you have a background that meets the below, we would love to speak with you regarding the exciting opportunities this position holds.

Position Description

The position of Customs Compliance Analyst is a functional technical expert in Global Customs Regulatory matters, as it relates specifically to the import and export of aircraft products. 

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Research and assignment of accurate merchandise tariff designations.  This process validates import duty rates, import and export filings with Customs, and identification and compliance of other government agencies requirements.
  • Audit various trade processes and retain work papers and other supporting documents; import entries, valuation, origin/labeling/marking; export shipments according to established guidelines. Experience in value reconciliation a plus.
  • Track/trace/expedite US Customs clearance process.  This process includes working with various third party Customs Brokers and couriers.  Success in this area is critical in meeting on-time deliveries
  • Proactively counsel internal customers for the purpose of making cost/program value determinations.  Continually review Customs rulings to determine changes in their analysis used when classifying items and write binding ruling requests when faced with new products or to challenge the status quo.

Required Education & Experience

  • Customs Brokers license required
  • 4+ years experience Import/Customs preferably with a Customs Broker or Importer with complex classification, valuation and origin profile.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or International Trade, or a demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Expert in Microsoft programs; knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Knowledge of best practices in customs compliance
