Job Description

Cyber Computer Network Defense Security Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Work in a challenging environment supporting Booz Allen's Northern Virginia Computer Network Defense (CND) service offering and the DLA J61 IA assessment team. Perform Blue Team and Cyber Defense capabilities for various field sites. Analyze the configuration of these devices against the DISA STIGs and recommends changes if it will improve the security posture. Analyze the security posture of workstations and servers running both UNIX and Windows operating systems. Analyze the data collected and write detailed reports about the security posture of the location after visiting a DLA field site. This position is located in Herndon, VA and on client-site in Falls Church, VA.

Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience with IT or Information Assurance (IA)
-7+ years of experience in working with Windows or UNIX
-5+ years of experience with analyzing vulnerabilities, systems configurations, and network architectures to provide mitigation recommendations for identified weaknesses in accordance with DoD policy
-5+ years of experience with firewalls, routers, and security systems and tools
-Knowledge of IA tools, including Retina and Nessus
-Knowledge of DoD or IC security and IA technologies, strategies, procedures, and processes
-Ability to obtain an IAT Level III Certification, including CISA or CISSP
-Ability to lead tasks and teams 
-Active Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree
-DoD 8570.01-M IAT-I or IAT-II Training and Certification, including Security+
 
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with supporting clients across multiple industries, including government, transportation, health care, manufacturing, and R&D
-Experience with all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC)
-Experience with the Military
-Experience as a systems administrator using Linux or Windows
-Experience with Blue Team or Red Team
-Experience with Computer Network Defense (CND)
-Knowledge of information security standards, policies, and practices, including NIST, DoD 8500, and DCID
-Ability to effectively work at all levels of an organization
-Ability to research information security issues, conduct system assessments, and determine alignment with functional and security requirements
-Ability to determine, analyze, and decompose security requirements at the level of detail that can be implemented and tested
-Ability to assess and mitigate systems security threats and risks throughout the program life-cycle
-MS degree or Graduate Certificate in CS, Systems Engineering, or an IT-related field
 
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
