Cyber Security Intelligence Analyst III
Responsibilities: VeriSign iDefense seeks an Intelligence Analyst to work as a member of an existing Fusion Cell charged with directing the intelligence process and developing a common picture of the cyber security threat environment. Responsibilities include identifying and analyzing security incidents to assess severity and identify responsible parties. Additionally, the analyst will submit significant research projects to industry conferences, respond to client-directed research requests and contribute to internal intelligence products. This position will also aid in producing a comprehensive operating picture and cyber security situational awareness.
Requirements: - 5 + years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) or equivalent experience in the field of cyber security
- 3+ years experience producing analytical reports and presenting findings to an audience
- Candidates must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills and have the ability to prioritize work
- Candidates must recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
- Candidates must be open to travel requirements
- Candidates must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
Required Skill Sets: - BS in Computer Science, Information Science or Information Management or other relevant security field
- In-depth knowledge of the security concerns facing large enterprises and government agencies
- Familiarity with cyber crime and cyber attacks, responsible groups, motivations and techniques
- Familarity with intelligence analysis tools and methods
- Ability to write analytical information products
- Ability to prepare and present research findings in both client and public settings
- Excellent computer skills
Desired Skill Sets: - MS in Computer Science, Information Science or Information Management or other relevant security field
- Experience working in a military intelligence operation or business intelligence operation
- Experience distilling raw information into actionable intelligence
- Familiarity with military, law enforcement or intelligence agency processes and procedures
- Ability to implement technology tools, including customization and development of beta tools
- Ability to maintain or develop professional contacts in the cyber security community and in client industries including finance and government
- Originality and creativity in problem solving
