Wireless Integrator


JOB DESCRIPTION                                                                                                                                                   

The Wireless Integrator will be a member of the cabling services team and will be responsible for the safe operation of our business.  He/She must be diligent in adhering to procedures, focused on producing the best quality products, being highly productive and mindful of costs.  The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic, team-based environment.  The Wireless Integrator will provide supervision within the market area to installers, optimizers and other technical personnel and equipment resources for projects assigned to the site, and providing support to functional and program management at all levels.  Ensures safe and cost-effective use of test equipment, tools, and resources.

In support of the Installation Supervisor (or with delegated/specific ownership from the Installation Supervisor) he/she will ensure that objectives are clearly and completely specified.  In conjunction with Installation Supervisor and other Supervisors, make sure justifiable site resources exist and are assigned to projects.

He/She will be accountable for meeting safety, quality, and production goals in support of our customers and business plan.

The successful candidate will have a blend of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                         

  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
  • Provides Installation Supervisor with timely updates and reports on employees and job(s) progress.
  • Provides guidance to subordinates in satisfying the administrative requirements on field project tasks based on broad knowledge of Customer requirements.
  • Performs Equipment Optimization.
  • Performs Troubleshooting procedures.
  • Produces Closeout Package Data for Customer Sign Off.
  • Analyze project plans to define critical resource requirements and interim “work a rounds” as well as tradeoffs required to provide adequate support within stated timeframes.
  • Train entry level technicians in the installation and optimization of wireless communications equipment
  • Monitor site installations to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Assist in the completion of punch list and inventory records on a per site basis.
  • Maintain assigned work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Document and report quality issues.
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks on time.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Skills/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                            

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Assoc. Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience preferred
  • A minimum of three years of previous telecommunications experience in cellular/PCS/installation and optimization required
  • Cell site installation experience preferred
  • Ericsson Certifications on UMTS, LTE, WCDMA, GSM or similar preferred
  • Ability to lead and develop lower level technicians
  • Ability to travel overnight
  •  Must successfully complete pre-employment assessments, background & reference checks. 
  • Must be willing to work flexible work schedule.
  • Must have a goodcommand of the English language, both written and spoken
    • Must successfully complete background & reference checks. 


Physical demands:

  • Job involves sitting, standing, walking and lifting for periods of time throughout the day
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical / drug screen and ongoing random drug screens. 
  • Must be able to lift between 15 and 40 pounds repeatedly on a daily basis.
