Position Title: DB2 UDB Application DBA

Position Description: The Application DBA is required to support the database tasks associated with the Phoenix Funding work stream. This is a high priority, high visibility initiative tasked with the re-engineering balance sheet processing at the firm. The position requires a hands-on database technologist with database administration and development experience. Support tasks will include database set-up and support for the various development and QA database environments. Also required is experience in SQL development and performance tuning. Good communications (written/verbal) are needed to work with the Global Phoenix project team.
Skills Required: * 5-10 years experience in the database development lifecycle * 5 years experience in design, development and support of large Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence related database applications. * 5 years experience with DB2 UDB running on a unix or linux platform. * 3 years experience with DB2 UDB EEE (DPF) in a multi-partitioned distributed environment. * 3 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger development. *Experience with VLDB (very large database) environments (multi terabyte) * Strong DB2 UDB performance tuning and monitoring experience. * Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries for performance improvement. * Ability to architect databases, including capacity, memory, data sizing and disk layouts. * Must possess good written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with remote teams.
Skills Desired: * Familiarity with an ETL product such as Informatica. * Perl or other scripting language. * Experience in a programming language. Java preferred. * Knowledge of Perforce or equivalent code management software. * Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Business Objects or Cognos.
