DBT Clinician

About the Job

 

Masters Degree required with Licensure or license-eligible.  Adult Mental Health experience required.  Knowledge of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and/or Dialectic Behavior Therapy with prior DBT training, particularly DBT intensive preferred.

 

 

·         Ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families;

      appropriate care for individuals receiving services, to win their respect, to guide them in their  

      development, to manage a home for them, if applicable, and to participate in the overall

      treatment program designed for the persons served;

 

·         The temperament suited to working with and caring for individuals with special needs;

 

·         To respect for all individuals regardless of their disabilities, abilities, sexual orientation, culture, religion or ethnicity.  To treat all people with dignity and respect, despite ones own personal beliefs and values.

 


Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide individual therapy to individuals in various residential treatment and supportive housing programs in North County area.  Provide family therapy as indicated.

 

  • Participate in treatment planning, coordination and provision of treatment services.

 

  • Completion of appropriate documentation and reporting as required.

 

  • Conduct required assessments with individuals assigned.

 

  • Collaborate with DBT Director and Division Director to establish DBT within residence and affiliate Bridge and Alternative programs.

 

  • Train staff in DBT, with assistance of DBT or Assistant DBT Director, as needed.

 

  • Facilitate weekly DBT skills training groups and home work groups for DMH clients within North County contract.

 

  • Participate in Agency and Program DBT Consultation Teams and Staff Meetings.

 

  • Facilitate the development of DBT Consultation Teams as well as assisting in establishing the culture of DBT in identified programs, in the North County area.

 

  • Provide individualized case consultation, with the assistance of the DBT or Assistant DBT Director.

 

  • Participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings as indicated.

 

  • Participate in agency trainings as assigned.

 

  • Participate in weekly supervision.

 

  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

 

  • Residential On-call responsibility as part of the North County leadership team.

 

  • Provide supervision for clinical interns as assigned.

 

  • Maintain positive relationships with provider agencies.

 

  • Any additional relevant and related responsibilities assigned by the Division Director and/or DBT Project Director.
