Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

The DC System Specialist ensures installation, operations, and maintenance of on site hardware such as
printers and servers for WCS, RIF devices, network connectings/cabling and PC in a complex, automated
distribution center.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understands, maintains and troubleshoots complex control systems

  • Diagnoses problems associates with computer and other hardware maintenance

  • Applies knowledge of systems and maintenance to ensure smooth facility operations

  • Completes preventative maintenance and repairs on system hardware

  • Provides training on use of hardware and basic diagnostic procedures for defining problems

    NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Reports to Operations Manager Quality

  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a
    project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide
    information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project
    performance.

    ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature
    extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk
    of accident or illness.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

    EDUCATION REQUIRED

    The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a trade school degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.


    Additional Qualifications

  • Strong Windows PC maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of Unix, SQL
  • Experience with DB2 and SQL server databases
  • General networking experience with TCP/IP protocol
  • Experience with windows server clusters, Windows 2003/domain, Active Directory

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Manhattan WMOS

  • Knowledge of the RDC warehouse operation

  • Ability to provide off hours support as needed

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of MHE systems/software
