Project Responsibilities:
* Configure new Distributed Control Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems to achieve project automation objectives. Coordinate configuration activities with other personnel performing work on the control and safety systems.
* Consult with other project engineering disciplines (e. g., Process, Instrument & Electrical, Mechanical) to ensure coordination of control systems activities with other aspects of project design and construction.
* Assist with design for control systems hardware of capital projects. Provide construction support and startup assistance for control systems.
* Maintain hardware and software for Distributed Control Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems during installation, commissioning and startup.
Non-Project Responsibilities:
* Supplement refinery DCS Engineers with system management, configuration support and hardware/software maintenance of existing control systems.
* Provide support and training to Operations personnel on process controls.
Critical Skills
* Computer hardware, software and networking expertise.
* Extensive knowledge of process controls and control systems.
* Basic knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems.
* Basic knowledge of instrumentation for flow, level, pressure, temperature and analytical measurement.
* Experience in an oil refinery is preferred.
* Experience with Emerson Provox and/or Delta V control systems is preferred.
