JOB OVERVIEW:


 


Experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer/DER to support design, development, flight test and certification activities of Mechanical Systems Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) on Transport Category Aircraft (Part 25)


 


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Integration of supplier components into aircraft systems
  • Co-ordination with component / system suppliers on design development
  • Prepare certification documentation, Certification Plans, Analysis Reports, Design Compliance Reports, etc.
  • Exercise DER functions by making findings of compliance with CFR 14 Part 25 requirements in accordance with FAA authorization
  • Prepare systems test plans, witness tests and analysis of results
  • Interface with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies on certification issues.
  • Function as a member of the Designation Alteration Station (DAS) and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).

  • Co-ordination with component / system suppliers on design development
  • Development of certification documentation, Certification Plans, Design Compliance Reports, etc.
  • Exercise DER functions by making findings of compliance with CFR 14 Part 25 requirements in accordance with FAA authorization
  • Prepare structural components/monuments test plans, witness tests and conduct analysis of results
  • Interface with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies on certification issues.
  • Function as a member of the Designation Alteration Station (DAS)/Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).

 


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:



  • A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Structures Engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 10+ years experience in structures integration and design
  • DER authorization for Part 25, Structures-General (Chart A, including flammability; Materials and process specifications delegation desirable) (metallic and non-metallic materials)
  • Experience with structural components/monuments installed in a typical cabin interior STC
  • Experience with foreign regulations (JAA, EASA)
  • Previous leadership role experience preferred
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Must be computer literate and familiarity with MS Office,  Autocad and/or Solidworks
  • Must be able to travel nationally and internationally
