Sternberg, a leader in the lighting industry, is seeking a
Design Engineer/Designer to further strengthen our resources in our engineering
department.  This person will be involved
in all aspects of product development from concept to manufacturing.  The candidate must be creative and have good
problem solving skills, the ability to work on multiple projects, work as a
team and have excellent communication skills. As an owner of Sternberg, this
person will share in the profitability and in the stock of Sternberg.

Responsibilities:

• Develop
  and design new lighting products.
• Design
  die castings, sand castings, spinnings, extrusions and injection molded
  parts, among others.
• Design
  with high intensity discharge, fluorescent, and LED lighting systems.
• Design
  with the understanding of structural and heat transfer engineering.

Qualifications:

• BS in
  Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years experience or equivalent.
• Experience
  in the lighting industry.
• Knowledge
  of UL and IES a plus.
• AutoCad,
  Inventor 3-D, Cosmos FEA, Floworks CFD and Photopia modeling software
  design work.
