Job Description
iGov has an exciting opportunity for a
qualified individual with experience in sales for iGov’s initiatives for Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  The primary mission of this position will be to maximize new sales in specific agencies within DHS for iGov strategic products and core competencies through outside sales efforts. The sales territory will be from one to five agencies within DHS. Experience and skills within any DHS components required.  Accounts to be defined based upon candidate’s experience, strengths and professional relationships.  In other words, the employee will have the ability to define his/her territory based upon his/her value as compared to the existing team’s.  Experience selling through FirstSource or EAGLE contracts preferred.

 

 

Candidates with sales experience outside of DHS will also be considered.

 

Must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new prospects within DHS and interact with existing customers to increase sales of COTS products and iGov custom solutions..
  • Identify and qualify a steady stream of opportunities through leads in DHS agency customers in the $1 million to $10 million range that are subsequently pursued and won by the company. 
  • Provide strategic market insight to help iGov identify emerging opportunities and trends in the DHS marketplace.
  • Have a personality to forge new relationships with iGov’s strategic partners and maintain and develop new vendor relationships.
  • The Strategic Accounts Manager will report to the iGov Senior VP of Sales.

 

Required Skills:

  • Must have a proven track record of at least 1 to 3 years of success in outside sales with proven DHS experience.
  • The most critical skill set required is an unrelenting focus on winning business.
  • Must have existing relationships with DHS IT decision makers.
  • Must have the ability to create new relationships with key people in assigned DHS accounts.
  • Listening skills a must in order to understand the clients’ technical challenges, and work with our SME’s to develop a solution with the end goal of closing business.
  • The account manager must be a quick study and be able to promote iGov’s custom solutions as well as COTS products.  
  • Must be able to communicate our ability to deliver emerging solutions that will enable iGov to differentiate itself in the DHS market.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to senior executives and policymakers and to large audiences.
  • Must have exceptional communication skills and be open and candid, effective and persuasive with customers, management, employees and other industry and market contacts.
  • Experience deploying effective sales processes is also desired.   
  • Travel as necessary

   

Certifications/Education:

  • Bachelors Degree desired.
  • Must have a working knowledge of MS-Outlook, Word and Excel.
