Knowledge normally acquired through:
A. Completion of a B.S. or B.A. degree in food and nutrition or dietetics.
B. Completion of an ADA approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program.
C. Currently listed with the ADA as a Registered Dietitian or registry eligible and Certified Dietitian, State of Wisconsin. If registry eligible, must successfully pass registration examination within six months and after passing registration examination, immediately become a Certified Dietitian, State of Wisconsin.
Experience in an inpatient academic medical center preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills required. Must have thorough knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism. Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully with other staff, patients, visitors, government agencies/staff and the general public. Ability to maintain total confidentiality of patient records. Ability to operate the CBORD program.
Ability to work on weekends and holidays. Ability to perform computer entries, use a calculator and telephone and perform mathematics calculations. Possesses organizational skills and leadership qualities, and is flexible when necessary. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Must have a thorough knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition.
