DIRECTOR - Distribution Strategy - FLY FREE! with US Airways

Job Responsibilities:

 

·         Responsible for the management of all US Airways’ GDS and online travel agency relationships, including negotiation of future contracts and full budget accountability

·         Build relationships and implement strategic shift to lower cost distribution alternatives

·         Coordinate company merchandising/ancillary strategy as it pertains to travel agencies and corporate channels

·         Reduce day-to-day distribution costs through disciplined contract, operational, and billing management

·         Represent US Airways with Star Alliance and other industry distribution initiatives

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a business discipline or equivalent experience/training; MBA or advanced Economics degree preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in Sales and Distribution field, with diverse relationship management experience
  • Distribution experience as both the partner and the airline
  • Experience acting as lead negotiator for airline distribution contracts, including in-depth knowledge of airline GDS and online travel agency contract composition
  • At least 3 year management / leadership experience
  • Keen understanding of industry distribution trends and emerging technologies including the way in which US Airways fits into the competitive landscape
  • Ability to think strategically and take calculated risks, with sound decision-making capabilities
  • Proven track record of initiating and following through on cost cutting and revenue generating ideas
  • Outstanding organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as with external agencies/vendors
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
