SUMMARY
Each Commodity Director is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services from suppliers within their responsible commodity groups. This role is responsible for overseeing and facilitating a team to accomplish this objective. They serve as the primary interface between suppliers within their commodities groups and have responsibility for managing the Oshkosh Corporation relationship with these suppliers. They are also responsible for development of annual commodity-focused goals as well as launching and implementing activities and initiatives needed to deliver targeted results. Periodic updates to the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Executive Group on progress towards team goals as well as providing commodity specific guidance to the annual Divisional budgeting process is required. These teams will also be responsible for designating suppliers as either Strategic or Non Strategic and be responsible for defining, prioritizing and coordinating assistance to Strategic suppliers, as needed, in support of commodity-focused goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversee and facilitate Global Commodity Teams comprised of Global, Segment, and Divisional Commodity Managers.
2. Oversee negotiation of all contracts and purchase agreements supporting product development, start-up and ongoing production for commodity suppliers that are common to multiple divisions.
3. Select and classify suppliers. Ensure that both Strategic and Non Strategic suppliers are capable of supporting Oshkosh Corporations Business Guidelines.
4. Provide expert guidance to the Supply Management Executive Team on any current or future factors that may influence a commodity, a supplier or Oshkosh Corporation’s relationship with a supplier.
5. Support divisional cost reduction efforts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
· 10 or more years of related experience.
· Ability to travel up to 50%, both domestic and international.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s Degree.
· Skill and knowledge in specialized techniques and principles of global purchasing and supply chain with an emphasis in Hydraulics, Electrical, or MRO/Indirect..
· CPM, APICS, Six Sigma Certifications.
· A proven track record of delivering results.
