DIRECTOR I -- END-USER SERVICES DEPLOYMENT







The Leader of End-User Services Deployment reports to the Director, End-User Services and is responsible for providing organizational and change management leadership for enterprise implementation of the Raytheon Secure Computer Common Operating Environment (COE) company-wide to meet current and future business needs. This individual will lead a group responsible for establishing and managing the change control and governance processes for the company's end-user computing environment and the deployment of end-user products and technologies company-wide, in close partnership with the business and corporate IT organizations. This individual will serve as a member of the extended Enterprise IT leadership team directly managing 3-5 senior IT project managers and indirectly another 10-15 matrixed technologists from the businesses, corporate, and the IT Services Supplier.



This leader is responsible for developing the master schedule and the release management requirements and methodologies that will result in the consistent and predictable deployment of end-user technologies, products and services company-wide. This individual defines and negotiates the technology adoption schedule with all of the business and corporate IT organizations, which ultimately requires review and approval from the IT Leadership Team. While directly responsible for a budget of approximately $5M, through this team's responsibility for developing the master end-user technology adoption schedule, this individual will ultimately have influence over half of the company's spend on end-user technology.

This individual will work closely with the End-User Services Technology and Build/Integration leaders to ensure that the hardware, operating system, and applications adoption plans are integrated, prioritized and aligned with other IT changes company-wide. This individual will be responsible for coaching and developing senior IT project managers through formal and informal mentoring, maintenance of technical and project management competency models, development and delivery of project management training, and providing a pipeline for future IT project managers.



This leader is responsible for establishing and maintaining the company-wide IT end-user technology deployment lifecycle in close partnership with the IT Asset Management organization to ensure that assets are properly tagged, licensed, tracked and disposed in accordance with company policies, processes, and standards. This leader remains continuously aware of business, technical, systems, information management and access, and infrastructure issues; acts as a consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions meeting company-wide needs; and maintains visibility in the project management community through technical papers and seminar / conference participation both within and external to Raytheon.





Responsibilities:

* Manages IT project managers responsible for developing the enterprise master schedule and release management requirements for consistent and predictable deployment of end-user products and technologies company-wide.

* Communicates with businesses and corporate leaders on changes to the end-user computing environment.

* Oversees the development of end user communications and education material, e.g., upgrade messages, websites, FAQs, in partnership with the Communications and Learning organizations.

* Directs a group of IT project managers responsible for deploying end-user computing releases and updates for multiple locations, international and company-wide.

* Oversees IT third party services provider to deliver enterprise deployment services for end-user computing technologies.

* Regulate the negotiation and prioritization of business and corporate end-user technology implementation schedules to optimize deployment and ensure process consistency.

* Acts as a consultant to senior business and functional leaders to determine optimal deployment schedule and methods that meet business needs.

* Coaches and develops a bench of IT project managers who can lead enterprise-level projects following defined IPDS methodology and templates.







Required Skills:

- Minimum 14 years leading and managing enterprise organizations responsible for end-user computing technology or IT services organization management.



- Proven ability to develop and lead a team in a matrixed organization structure.



- Proven ability to plan, schedule and execute IT projects of at least $5M in size.



- Articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the Corporate Information Technology management team.



- Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading high performing teams responsible for delivery of IT end-user technologies and support of end users.



- Strong communicator who is adept at explaining end-user technology concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical persons.



- Depth of knowledge and experience in end-user technologies, desktop, messaging, collaboration, infrastructure on a national and international basis, as well as third-party management.



- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively.



- Ability to attain DOD -- Secret Security Clearance.



- Excellent oral and written communications skills required.



- Ability to travel (domestic and international).







Desired Skills:



* Six Sigma and/or Lean certification/training.

* Supplier management experience, preferably with a supplier that provides IT services.

* Presence required to interface with executives (Director and above) at both the supplier and in Raytheon, including executive presentation skills.

* Relevant experience in both the Raytheon business unit and corporate office environments.







Education:



* BS/BA in Information Systems, Information Management or related field

* Strongly prefer relevant advanced degree (MS, MBA) and/or professional certification (Project Management Institute)
