Director of Analytics
Function: Support the analytical needs of largest online non-prime, micro-lending credit bureau. Recommend, design, develop and implement sophisticated risk analytic solutions to help drive business goals. Convert data analysis into actionable modeling algorithms using internal performance, and other related performance data.
- Develop, maintain, verify and distribute effective and accurate monthly and ad hoc reports.
- Develop new methods to automate and expand regular reporting tasks as well as develop and maintain new methods to allow for more efficient ad hoc reporting using Business Objects or similar tools.
- Analyze the historic credit performance of the portfolios and develop visual and written reports that summarize these results, identify trends, explain variances from expectations and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Analyze the impact of historical and predicted economic, industry, product, competitor and demographic changes on the existing and future portfolios. Monitor portfolio performance relative to credit risk policies and procedures.
- Present findings to senior management.
- Participate in special projects (new system investigation/implementation, benchmark studies, etc.) as required. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement risk-based strategies, tools, and systems.
- Industry research and operational analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced Degree preferred.
- Three to seven years of financial services experience in an analytical capacity.
- Three to seven years experience in estimating complex models, and designing Credit Risk Scorecards (e.g., Account Acquisition, Account Management, and Collections Scorecards), Three to seven years of proven SAS, SQL, or STATA experience extracting and analyzing large datasets.
- Ability to build complex predictive models and action oriented analytic tools.
- Knowledge of credit lifecycle, quantitative techniques, data mining and database management required.
- Proven experience with statistical modeling techniques (e.g., logistic regression) and model development software: SAS/STAT, SAS Enterprise Miner, CART, MARS, KnowledgeSeeker, etc.
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) business implications of insights gained through independent data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to independently execute tactical plans and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects are also a must.
