The Director of Marketing is primarily responsible and accountable for strategic management and growth of the Joint Fluid Therapies portfolio in our Biolgoics and Spine Global Business Unit.
This position helps develop and oversees implementation of marketing plan strategies and promotional tactics focused on both health care provider customers and patients.
While working closely with the other members of the marketing leadership team, the position gathers and analyzes key market data specific to the clinical therapies market segments.
The position also evaluates markets and business development opportunities outside of our current areas of engagement based on the evaluation of key unmet needs, characterization of market segments and understanding of current standards of care.
The position looks at return on investment and other key data points to help analyze, guide and prioritize the division’s strategy.
The position travels and will interact with our key surgeons and thought leaders to help understand the current standards of care and potential opportunities.
This position leads cross functional teams in a variety of projects in order to execute the marketing plan, and is a strong partner of the Clinical Therapies sales force, providing the strategies, tools, and support to drive growth.
This position leads the new product development strategy for this product area, works closely with Research & Development to review, provide guidance and prioritize the research plan within the innovation organization, and is responsible for launch of new products in this area.
With the VP Marketing, this position will manage relationships with our licensing partners.
Required Skills:
- Understand and review our key markets and their growth potential while also tracking key market opportunities and trends that can impact divisional performance
- Analyze and prioritize opportunities based on market potential, surgeon feedback and return on investment
- Work with the marketing leadership team in evaluating and prioritizing the product development opportunities and product line extensions
- Create and implement marketing promotional plan, providing appropriate tools to the sales force
- Ensure continued product availability through forecasting
- Develop close working relationships with all functional groups impacting the product design, quality, supply, manufacturing, customer service
- Provide product strategic direction to managed care reimbursement marketing and sales
- Develop close ties with surgeons/MDs and thought leaders to understand standards of care and current opportunities
- Work closely with Research & Development to evaluate and prioritize new research opportunities
Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Finance required. MBA preferred.
- Minimum 7 years business experience with strong focus in marketing
- Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze markets through multiply sourced data with communication of facts in a succinct manner.
