DLA Albany Warehouse Specialist

This project consist of performing the following items: to provide all management, supervision, labor, and personnel to perform receiving, storage, rewarehousing, inventory, issue and delivery of material, and inventory and replenishment from stock to production line side bins in support of the Maintenance Center Albany (MCA) utilizing the ILSMIS and other supply systems.  The DLA-Albany maintains the minimum necessary storage and warehousing functions and associated inventory management for depot level repairable (DLR) and consumable repair parts to support the production lines at MCA.  The MCA performs repairing, rebuilding, or overhauling for both wheeled and tracked vehicles.

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.  Work involves most of the following:  Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.  May operate hand or powered trucks in performing warehousing duties to include forklift operation.


Job Requirements:
  • Four years of successful general supply experience and warehousing operations.
  • Experience and training in military logistics operations.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.
  • Very reliable and dedicated who has superb attention to detail skills.
