JOB SUMMARYPerforms a variety of duties that assist attorneys with respect to daily docketing of U.S. and foreign intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, domain names, license agreements, and related contested matters.  Receives and processes docket-related correspondence (U.S. mail, electronic mailboxes, couriers).  Accurately enters data and scanned documents into the PATTSY docketing system.  Appropriately responds to attorney and staff inquiries, sends reminders to attorneys, paralegals and specialists about upcoming deadlines, prepares docket reports for attorneys and others.  Archives intellectual property documents.  Maintains positive contact with fellow professionals and observes confidentiality of client matters.  May perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


·         Minimum of 4+ years of trademark and patent docketing experience (law firm preferred), attention to detail and timeliness is a must, and be able to, efficiently, work as part of a busy team, processing large volumes of work timely and accurately. 


·         Highly motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision on highly confidential matters and must be proactive in discussing issues spotted and escalate time-sensitive issues quickly.


·         Must be comfortable searching in U.S. and foreign PTO databases to verify data.


·         Strong Microsoft Word and Excel experience, and an ability to quickly learn how to efficiently use other applications used by the team.


·         Working knowledge of USPTO, PCT and international rules and regulations required.


·         Excellent organizational skills.


·         Data entry experience preferred.


 


Working Conditions


This is a full-time non-exempt position.  Normal work week is 40 hours and overtime may be required on a periodic basis.  The work environment is a office setting, generally quiet to moderate noise; non smoking.  Travel for this position is not expected.
